Exterior Lighting Design Engineer

Job Description

Responsibilties:



Execute the design and development of exterior lighting products from initial concept to production by utilizing CAD and CAE resources. Identify, investigate, and resolve design concerns/problems as early as possible in the development process. Create 2D and 3D data using CATIA V5 software for product design output. Identify technical solutions. Concept developments, Analytical calculations on design requirements. Experience in lamp integration with vehicle is preferred. Experience in designing Lamp housing, Heatsink, 2K Lens, light blades, Bezels, Base plates Lamp assemblies. Handa on experience in DFA, DFM evaluations for Metal Plastic parts, Gap and Flush, Tolerance calculation. Integration of electrical PCB's, connectors with space optimization techniques. Knowledge on thermal, mechanical and defogging requirements for lamps. 2D drawings creation for mechanical parts with suitable tolerance scheme. Experience in release of 3D and 2D in PLM system. Working with Tier-1/OEM team for acceptance, release & improvements. Should coordinate with engineers located at different global technical centers. Co-ordination with OEM and supplier resident engineer if required.

Requirements:



BE or BTech / M.Sc/ M.E in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent. Must have hands-on experience with Catia V5, Team center, Microsoft Office. Experience with Ansys Speos and Ansys Mechanical is preferred. Must have lighting program work experience. 6+ years of working experience in Automotive lighting development. Demonstrates strong team collaboration skills. Proactive self-learner with high motivation. Takes ownership of responsibilities and tasks. Shows agility in learning new and advanced skills. Displays self-confidence in professional interactions. Effective team contributor with a cooperative attitude. Possesses strong interpersonal and communication skills. English is a must. Knowledge of other languages (Japanese) is added advantage.
