\xc2\xa342,165 per annum plus excellent benefits 12-month fixed-term contract, with the possibility of extension Full-time role and hybrid working with a minimum of 2 days in our London office. (Flexible working requests will be considered)
The Health Foundation is an independent charity committed to bringing about better health and health care for people in the UK. Health is never far from the headlines. We are looking for an External Affairs Officer to help us continue to secure high-profile media coverage, with a focus on proactively contacting journalists to pitch stories, managing media bids, and working closely with colleagues to ensure press activity sits with wider communications plans. To be successful in the role of External Affairs Officer, you will have:

  • significant experience working within a fast-paced and influential press office, including managing multiple reactive media requests at one time and a record of proactively securing top-tier coverage (essential)
  • excellent written and verbal communication skills - capable of writing high-quality releases, statements, comments, briefings, and other written materials (essential)
  • evidence of building strong relationships with senior internal and external colleagues (essential)
  • experience of strategic working with other communications disciplines, especially public affairs (highly desirable)
  • experience in health and/or social affairs (highly desirable)
