Job Description

Young's are a busy timber and builder's merchant operating in the Kent and East Sussex area. Due to continued expansion we now have a vacancy for a junior external sales executive based at one of our branches. You will join an existing sales team, and come under the direction of the Operations Manager.

The role will involve driving to customer sites or tracking down new sites and expanding sales to existing customers and new customers alike. This will be mainly an external role with some branch work as required. This role is to support our existing 3 branches customer base that does not have a dedicated external sales person assigned.

A Car will be provided during working hours, you will be responsible to get to the branch under your own transport.

Ideally you will be currently working at a Builders merchant on the trade counter or sales office.

You will be working towards becoming a full external sales executive ( 12- 18months)

You will need to have the following skills,

Experience of selling timber and building materials

Existing trade customer base

Enthusiasm, Knowledge and experience

Managing a trade database

Good customer service and communication skills

ability to operate a PC, and basic PC functions

Ability to work under pressure and tight deadlines

Team worker and able to work unsupervised

A clean driving licence ( 3 points will be allowed)

You will be working at any of our branches, Monday to Friday 7.30 to 5pm with alternate Saturday working 8am to 1pm. Extra hours may be required as work dictates. This is a full time position, and your responsibilities will include the following:- generating orders from your own client base, customer quotations and enquires.
