We are seeking to appoint an Apprentice Teaching Assistant to join our dedicated staff team at Black Firs Primary School, based in our Early Years Team and working mainly in our Pre-School with some time supporting our Reception cohort. Black Firs is a successful, happy 1.5 form entry primary school, based in the West Heath area of Congleton, Cheshire, with a 52 place Pre-School. We are looking to expand in the coming year to include two year olds as part of our school family.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is passionate and dedicated about transforming the life chances of our pupils. You will support the teaching and learning at our school whilst gaining hands on experience and working towards a recognised qualification.


The successful candidate will undertake a Level 3 Teaching Assistant Apprenticeship through Macclesfield College. You will be supported with excellent training to become a skilled and valued team member.


You will hold GCSE or Functional Skills equivalent (Grade 4/C or Level 2) in Maths and English.

Provide teaching and learning to our students with the support of the Classroom Teacher Ability to motivate and to support learning Committed to supporting pupils to reach their full potential Effective communicator both orally and in writing Good ICT skills Excellent organisational and administrative skills Understanding of the educational system and current development, particularly in regards to Early Years

This is an 18 month apprenticeship and candidate's success will be dependent on an additional successful interview and acceptance on to the apprenticeship training with Macclesfield College.
The school reserves the right to close this advert early if suitable applications are received before the official closing date. This position is for a 37 hour per week, term time only post. 20% of time will be allocated to off the job training/assignments/CPD. The apprentice will receive support through a school based mentor and this is an assessment based qualification through Macclesfield College.
