The opportunity has arisen to join an industry leader in UK's & Ireland's Building Services sector. Alternative Heat design, develop and deliver a wide range of offsite-prefabricated, innovative, and sustainable building service solutions throughout the UK & Europe.

We specialise in the design, supply, and installation of a wide range of prefabricated energy solutions, typically built in NI and shipped throughout the UK & Europe. We also offer turnkey design, build, and operate solutions for commercial energy centres and large-scale district heating solutions and have experience with successfully procuring and delivering many similar packages to a wide range of public bodies throughout UK & Europe.

Team Overview:



The Fabrication department is responsible for the off-site manufacturing of bespoke mechanical and electrical systems, including prefabricated plant rooms, skids, and modular assemblies. Operating from our dedicated fabrication facility, the team ensures high-quality workmanship, precision, and compliance with project specifications. By delivering preassembled solutions, the department helps reduce installation time, improve safety on-site, and maintain consistent quality -- all while supporting efficient project delivery and innovation in modular construction.



Role Overview:





The Fabrication Planning Assistant supports the creation of Production plans and cutting lists for pipe fabrication and welding, site inventory management and general reporting.


The role also requires liaising with Material Planners in ensuring material availability to programme.

What You'll be Doing:



Programme Planning

Liaise regularly with the Production Management team in relation to available capacity for Programme creation. Subsequently assist in identifying and scheduling workload covering pipe fabrication, manual welding, Spool Welding Robot and weld Rotators. Liaise with the project management teams in weekly meetings to discuss progress and programmes.


Production

Manage raw materials and stock levels at Fabrication site. Review all fabrication drawings prior to entering the production line for correct measurements and specification. Annotate drawings and upload to appropriate location. Allow for fitting actual sizes and create cutting lists from Engineering drawings and present to Production for fabrication. Liaise with Production team in ensuring projects progress in a timely manner and in accordance with project programmes and specifications. Supporting weekly progress reports and target advancements on individual projects. General administration associated with the role. Set a personal example to all personnel on site.


What You Need to Have:





3 years' experience within a role completing similar duties. Being able to read and understand assembly and schematic drawings. Strong Microsoft Office experience, especially Excel Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Strong attention to detail and high organisational skills Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines Strong administration skills Proficient with the use of IT equipment & systems. Full UK Driving licence.



What You Would Ideally Have:


Relevant certifications (e.g., NVQ in construction, CSR) are advantageous.
