We are a small dynamic aviation company based in the picturesque region of Cornwall, UK, specialising primarily in the repair and maintenance of commercial aviation components, ensuring the safety and reliability of aircraft operations. In addition to our primary focus on commercial aviation, we are passionately engaged in the restoration and rebuilding of a 'Presentation Spitfire' alongside other unique and historically significant aircraft. This secondary endeavour reflects our deep commitment to preserving aviation heritage and showcasing the rich history of flight.

With a strong reputation for quality and customer satisfaction, we are poised for expansion and seeking a highly motivated and experienced Managing Director to lead our team into the next phase of growth.

The Role:



We are seeking a skilled metal fabricator / machinist to join our team in producing heritage aircraft. While prior experience with aircraft is not required, candidates must demonstrate proficiency in working with aluminium and possess a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and a willingness to learn. Full training on aircraft-specific techniques will be provided.

Key Responsibilities:



Fabricate, assemble, and finish aluminium components to precise specifications. Use a variety of tools and techniques, including cutting, forming, riveting, machining and welding to shape aluminium parts. Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications to ensure accurate production. Collaborate with team members to ensure components meet strict quality and safety standards. Maintain a clean and organised workspace, adhering to health and safety regulations. Participate in training programs to develop skills specific to Spitfire aircraft construction and restoration. Contribute ideas for improving processes and maintaining the authenticity of heritage designs.

Essential Skills and Qualifications



Proven experience working with aluminium (e.g., fabrication, sheet metal work, machining or similar). Proficiency with tools such as shears, presses, forming tools, lathes, milling machines, rivet guns, and or welding equipment. Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work. Ability to follow technical instructions and work to precise measurements. Basic understanding of engineering principles and material properties. Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity. Willingness to learn and adapt to specialised aircraft production techniques.
