We are seeking 1 - 2 skilled Fabricator/Welders to join our team on a temporary to permanent basis with minimum contract offering of 6-months, additional terms to be reviewed in due course. Operating at our newly finished premises, the position offers a minimum of 42.5hr/Wk with considerable opportunities for additional hours.
The successful candidate will be responsible for fabricating and welding structural steel assemblies in accordance with drawings & specification , candidates who are competent in the production of architectural metalwork assemblies i.e. stairs, balustrades would be beneficial though not necessary.
We currently have approximately 350T of structural steelwork in the pipeline, all materials are procured profiled/lasered/drilled by suppliers.
This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a strong fabrication & welding background and proficiency in various welding techniques, particularly MIG welding looking to join a growing team with good aptitude in an ideal setting. The position is paid competitively with rates to be agreed, and suitable for those eager to develop their skills within a dynamic environment.
Workshop Location: RG25 2HGW - Driving to site required, free on-site parking.
Responsibilities
Fabricate structural steelwork according to technical drawings and specifications
Fabrication of architectural metalwork - stairs, balustrades etc. (preferable)
Use hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment safely and effectively
Cut, shape, and assemble components using appropriate fabrication techniques
Inspect finished work to ensure quality standards are met
Maintain a clean and organised workspace, adhering to health and safety regulations
Collaborate with team members to complete projects efficiently and accurately
Experience
Proven experience in MIG welding and general fabrication processes
Experience in TIG welding preferable but not necessary
Candidates preferably to have/previously held welding coding (Oakfield to provide)
Familiar with EN-1090 standard & procedures
Competent in interpreting technical fabrication drawings & specifications.
Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment
Basic mathematical skills for measurements and calculations during fabrication tasks
