This role as a Facilities Lead at Elysium Healthcare in Hertfordshire involves managing the support services of the hospital, including Housekeeping, Catering, and Estates departments. The successful candidate will ensure the smooth running of these departments, oversee budgets, risk assessments, audits, and liaise with external stakeholders to support the needs of the service.
Main duties of the job
As a Facilities Lead, you will be responsible for the operational management and leadership of the support services at Rhodes Wood Hospital in Hatfield. This will involve ensuring high standards and compliance across the Housekeeping, Catering, and Estates departments. You will maintain accurate documentation, undertake risk assessments, and organize emergency procedures. Additionally, you will oversee the delivery of catering services, monitor service quality and hygiene, and ensure efficient use of food resources. In the Housekeeping department, you will supervise operations and adherence to infection prevention and control protocols, as well as conduct regular cleanliness audits. For the Maintenance function, you will coordinate planned and reactive maintenance activities, ensure timely resolution of issues, and manage budgets. Finally, you will lead the front-of-house team to deliver a professional and compassionate welcome to all visitors.

With experience and skills from a specialised trade, you will ensure each department runs smoothly, whether it's managing the response to maintenance requests, developing the food and beverage services or maintaining hygiene standards. You will operationally manage the support functions of the hospital including Estates, Housekeeping, Catering and Front of House leading the senior department leads. With a strong emphasis on teamwork, you'll receive support from a regional network of healthcare professionals and enjoy access to a variety of online and CPD training courses to support you reach your career goals. As a member of the Senior Leadership Team, the post holder will ensure these services are delivered efficiently, safely, and to the highest standards, supporting the hospital's commitment to exceptional patient care and regulatory compliance. Your responsibilities will include: oOperational management and provide effective leadership and ensuring high standards and compliance across these departments. oMaintain accurate documentation and spreadsheets to support internal and external inspections. oTo undertake risk assessments and organise emergency procedures/fire drills. oParticipate in on call duties and where required, out of hours visits. Catering oOversee the delivery of catering services for patients and staff, ensuring compliance with nutritional and food safety standards. oMonitor service quality and hygiene through regular audits and feedback mechanisms. oEnsure efficient use of food resources and proper storage in line with Environmental Health Office (EHO) standards. Housekeeping oEnsure a clean, safe, and welcoming environment throughout the hospital. oSupervise housekeeping operations and ensure adherence to infection prevention and control protocols. oConduct regular cleanliness audits and implement improvements as needed. Maintenance oCoordinate planned and reactive maintenance activities across the site. oEnsure timely resolution of maintenance issues and maintain accurate records of all works. oManage maintenance budgets and ensure high standards of workmanship and safety. Reception / Front of House oLead the front-of-house team to deliver a professional and compassionate welcome to all visitors. oManage staff rotas, training, and service delivery standards. oImplement systems to manage enquiries, bookings, and visitor flow efficiently and safely.
