Job Title: Facilities Service Apprentice

Location: HMP Fosse Way, Leicester, LE18 4WS

Working Week: 37.5 hrs, Monday to Friday 08:00 to 16:30
Salary: \xc2\xa322,000 per annum plus 25 days per annum
Apprenticeship Qualifications: L2 Facilities Service Operative

Expected Apprenticeship Duration: 12 -18 months

As a Facilities Service apprentice, you will receive on-site training and assist with supporting the Facility Maintenance team at HMP Fosse Way.

Due to the nature of the role, you are required to be 18 or over for this role.

Day to day you\'ll be involved in:

  • Providing building maintenance services to a designated area including fault fixes, cosmetic repairs garden maintenance, reporting repairs, and maintenance action.
  • Complying with relevant health, safety and environmental legislation (Health and Safety at Work etc Act 1974)
  • Logging incidents, posting/distributing health, and safety notices, checking fire extinguishers, fire alarms, confirming that checks have been carried out, use of PPE
  • Removing all waste from properties when in attendance and ensure that it is recycled, where possible, or disposed of as per local regulations.
  • Regularly reporting to the Facility Manager, the progress of repairs and pre-planned maintenance, particularly where tasks may take longer than scheduled.

Preparing for your recruitment journey:

As part of our recruitment process, you will be required to complete assessments as part of your application. If you are successful, you will be invited to a face-to-face interview.

Our provider will require you to take a skill scan and undertake initial assessments if you are selected for the apprenticeship.

You must have GCSEs Grades A* to C or 9 to 4 under the new grading system including Maths and English (or acceptable equivalent).

You will be required to undergo security checks, which include a check of criminal records. (The role is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974, and all offers of employment are subject to security clearance checks and approval by the Home Office)
