Here at Americold Whitchurch we are now recruiting for a Facilities & Warehouse Maintenance Technician.


The purpose of this role is to ensure the efficient operation, safety, and compliance of all site facilities equipment, warehouse infrastructure, and distribution systems through planned, preventative, and reactive maintenance. This includes building systems, utilities, and critical services to support a safe and productive working environment.


Key Responsibilities / Accountabilities


Perform mechanical and electrical maintenance on facility systems, including lighting, fire safety systems, plumbing, carpentry and building fabric.


Maintain and repair warehouse equipment such as:


Mobile racking systems


Conveyor systems


Dock levellers and loading bay equipment


Refrigeration systems for cold storage areas


Conduct planned and reactive maintenance using a Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to prioritise and record tasks.


Ensure compliance with HSE regulations and site standards, covering Legionella, DSEAR, LOLER, PUWER, and COSHH.


Support energy efficiency initiatives and sustainability projects across the site.


Respond to facility and warehouse-related breakdowns and emergencies, minimizing downtime and ensuring business continuity.


Participate in out-of-hours call-out rota for critical facility and warehouse issues.

Qualifications & Certifications


NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or time served apprenticeship.


18th Edition Wiring Regulations (essential for electrical work)


F-Gas Certification (desirable for refrigeration work)


LOLER & PUWER Awareness


Legionella Awareness
