Job Description

Overview


The short and medium term functions of the manufacturing operations within the Company, including the implementation of manufacturing programmes and labour plans set out by the Production Planner, the day to day operations and maintenance of the plant and machinery, materials acquisition from stores and clear communication of daily outputs and targets.

Duties



Lead the day to day management of the factory Ensure that the required product (parts) are available to enable delivery of completed product on time. Provide accurate reporting information on output of the factory for each project Ensure that there is robust Quality Assurance audit (QA) in place and that all completed material is signed off and identified as having been inspected. Ensure compliance with the factory QA check list at all stages of production Ensure each machine is safety checked each day, all machines have maintenance checks carried out and that weekly clean downs are completed, these must all be signed for by operator as required and accurate records are kept Ensure that all finished items are stored on stillages and or in specified holding areas Ensure that the dispatch of products from the factories are accurately recorded and that best practice is observed to ensure safe transportation. Ensure compliance with all safety procedures within the factory environment and stores area (Fire hazards, Fire escapes, Trip Hazards, PPE, Machine guards etc including fire alarm test and evacuations Ensure that adequate stocks of consumables are available and that any required materials are ordered in advance.

Skills



Proven experience in a supervisory role within a the Upvc window manufacturing environment. Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop a team. Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail. Proficient in using production management software and Microsoft Office Suite. Strong problem-solving abilities with a focus on continuous improvement. Knowledge of health and safety regulations relevant to manufacturing processes. Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to liaise with various stakeholders.
