Do you have the strategic insight and leadership experience to shape academic staff related operations in a world-class academic environment?
We are seeking a Faculty Operations Manager to support our four academic departments and lead the Dean's Office EA team, helping to improve consistency, streamline processes, and enhance the support provided to academic leadership, including the Vice Dean (Research and Faculty) and Vice Dean (Education). You will play a key role in embedding operational excellence while championing autonomy and collaboration across the Business School.
What you would be doing
---------------------------
In this role, you will provide strategic and operational leadership across departmental and central faculty support functions. You will support Department Operations Officers in academic departments, helping ensure processes are consistent where needed but flexible to local context.
You will lead the Dean's Office EA team, ensuring high-quality support to the Senior Leadership team, while also acting as a key liaison between academic and professional services. You will collaborate with HR, Finance, and senior academic leadership to reduce complexity, support change initiatives, and improve service delivery.
You will also work closely with the Vice Dean (Research and Faculty) on faculty-related processes such as promotions, probations and the PRC, helping to ensure they are well coordinated and professionally delivered.
What we are looking for
---------------------------
Experienced operational leader with a strong track record of managing professional services or administrative teams
Able to work confidently with senior leadership and academic colleagues, supporting them with complex matters and sensitive processes
Skilled in process improvement and standardisation, without imposing one-size-fits-all solutions
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trusted relationships across teams
Comfortable navigating a fast-paced, complex organisation with competing priorities
Committed to professional development, inclusion, and building a collaborative culture
What we can offer you
-------------------------
The opportunity to continue your career at a world-leading institution and be part of our mission to use science for humanity.
Benefit from a sector-leading salary and remuneration package (including 39 days' annual leave and generous pension schemes).
Access to a range of workplace benefits including a flexible working policy from day one, generous family leave packages, on-site leisure facilities and cycle-to-work scheme.
Interest-free season ticket loan schemes for travel.
Be part of a diverse, inclusive and collaborative work culture with various staff networks and resources to support your personal and professional wellbeing.
