Lancaster, ENG, GB, United Kingdom

Job Description

Please note: this job is only available to current employees of Lancaster University

This is a fantastic career development opportunity to join the Faculty of Humanities, Arts and Social Sciences (FHASS) Employability Team as the Faculty Placements Officer with a focus on placement year activity and one to one student appointments. The postholder will work closely with colleagues in Careers to primarily support the ongoing development and delivery of placement year activity within the Faculty.

This is an opportunity to make a real contribution towards student employability within the Faculty of Humanities, Arts and Social Sciences. Our goals are to increase student employability and enhance student experience and this role is key to ensure the ongoing success of the FHASS Placement Year degree programmes.

The workload will be varied and will require the ability to work effectively with all key stakeholders internal and external to the University, including potential and current students, departmental contacts, colleagues in the central Careers and Employability Service, and external employers/placement hosts.

You should have excellent organisational and administration skills including the ability to multi-task, and the ability to self-motivate and manage your own workload. Strong IT skills are essential, in addition to experience of managing data, exceptional attention to detail, and flexibility to deal with ongoing developments within the placement programme and Employability Team. Experience of working in a student facing role and an understanding of student employability needs is essential.

This is a Bailrigg campus-based role but there is some flexibility for those who prefer to work some of the time remotely.
