The Opportunity



We are excited to be expanding our team and have an outstanding opportunity for a paralegal to join our care team within our dynamic and friendly family department in our Newport office. This role is perfect for individuals passionate about providing excellent support and client care and eager to advance their careers in a reputable legal firm.

Your Role and Responsibilities



As a Paralegal, you will play a key role on a team committed to high standards and client care. Working with fee earners, your duties include but not limited to:

Supporting solicitors with day to day running of both legal aid and private matters Attending client conferences Attending conference with counsel Attending hearings with counsel Preparation of statements and other court documents /pleadings Preparation of electronic bundles Completion of legal aid applications Meet time and fee targets Seeking expert reports from third parties Arranging interpreters. Preparation of trail bundles Dealing with telephone and in person enquiries

Essential Skills and Experience



To excel this role, you will need the following skills and experience:

A minimum of 12 months' experience preferred The ability to evaluate and offer solutions where required A friendly, professional manner and excellent people skills. Excellent organisational skills with the ability to multi-task and prioritize effectively to meet deadlines. The ability to work well in a team with a flexible and collaborative approach. The motivation to learn and show initiative, eager to develop new skills and improve processes. Excellent communication skills and a professional telephone manner. Proficiency in IT skills, including Microsoft Office packages and Case Management Systems. A proactive and adaptable attitude, ready to take on additional tasks as needed.
