We are seeking a highly organised and efficient Legal Secretary to provide comprehensive administrative support within our legal team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of daily legal activities, managing correspondence, and maintaining accurate records. Responsibilities
Draft, proofread, and type legal documents, correspondence, and reports with accuracy and confidentiality.
Manage and organise legal files, case documentation, and electronic records efficiently.
Schedule appointments, court dates, and meetings, coordinating with clients and external agencies as necessary.
Handle incoming calls and correspondence professionally, ensuring effective communication within the team and with clients.
Utilise Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook) to prepare presentations, spreadsheets, and correspondence.
Perform audio typing of dictations or recordings swiftly and accurately.
Assist with general administrative tasks such as filing, photocopying, and data entry.
Maintain strict confidentiality of sensitive information at all times.
Support the legal team in preparing for court proceedings or client meetings as required.
Skills
Proven administrative experience, preferably within a legal environment.
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook.
Experience with audio typing is highly desirable.
Good IT skills with the ability to adapt to new software or systems quickly.
Exceptional time management skills to meet deadlines consistently.
Attention to detail to ensure accuracy in all documentation and correspondence.
