We are seeking a highly organised and efficient Legal Secretary to join our professional legal team. The successful candidate will provide comprehensive administrative support to solicitors and legal professionals, ensuring smooth daily operations within the firm. Duties
Prepare, draft, and type legal documents, correspondence, and reports using audio typing where applicable.
Manage and organise legal files, case documentation, and electronic records with precision.
Schedule appointments, court dates, and meetings, ensuring all deadlines are met through effective time management.
Liaise with clients, courts, and external agencies via phone, email, and written correspondence.
Utilise Microsoft Office suite including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook to create presentations, spreadsheets, and manage communications.
Assist with general administrative tasks such as filing, photocopying, scanning, and maintaining office supplies.
Support the legal team in preparing for court proceedings or client meetings by organising relevant materials.
Ensure compliance with confidentiality protocols at all times while handling sensitive information.
Requirements
Proven administrative experience, preferably within a legal setting.
Strong audio typing skills with high accuracy and speed.
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively.
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications: Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook.
Good IT literacy including familiarity with legal management software is desirable.
Exceptional communication skills both written and verbal.
Effective time management skills to meet tight deadlines consistently.
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
A recognised qualification in secretarial or administrative studies is advantageous but not essential. This role is ideal for motivated individuals eager to contribute to a professional legal environment while developing their skills further within the industry.
