Our team of Family Time (also known as child contact) supervisors

regularly work at both our Eastbourne and Hastings contact centres as well as the Sussex community, so it is essential that candidates are happy to travel.

Travel time and mileage is paid for all work other than at your closest contact centre.

Family time offers children the chance to nurture or re-establish contact with a parent or their significant others, who they currently are not living with. The children we work with may be living with a parent, an extended family member or foster carers. Our Child Contact Centres provide families with the opportunity to spend quality time with their parent and/or relatives a safe, neutral space.

These roles are zero hour employed positions

You do get to choose which work to accept but we cannot guarantee minimum hours each week as the role is demand driven by family needs. Hours will vary monthly.

Although a bank role we need flexible applicants with excellent communication skills who can commit regularly to work, as we allocate families to you and their sessions are often weekly.

Sessions run across the week, so applicants must have good weekly availability including willing to cover one or more sessions at a weekend when needed ( not necessarily both Saturday and Sunday) and ideally having some after school availability, as we often collect children straight from school for contact sessions.

About the Role:

Your main responsibilities would be to:

Facilitate Child Contact Sessions:

Supervise Family Time between children and non-resident parents in the welcoming environment of our child contact centres or in the local community.

Child Transport:

Help transport children to and from sessions (mileage and travel time paid).

Where Family Support is needed

(based on demand and location), you'll also have the opportunity to play a vital role in supporting children and families through family support.

A background working with families and children is essential

Excellent written and spoken English as report writing is required. Applicants must have a computer for this and reports are written in Word.

You will also use Dropbox and must be numerate to provide accurate time sheets.

Salary:

13-15 per hour, depending on the day of the week worked

All employees must have an Enhanced DBS check or be willing to apply and pay for one if successful.
