Hours of work (Flexible on hours for the right person):

Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday (9am until 6pm)



We have an exciting opportunity for the right person to join our lovely nursery team as a part time Nursery Head Chef. You will be working alongside a kitchen assistant and a second chef on a Wednesday.



We have a large, fully equipped modern kitchen, fitted with air con! We are passionate about food and providing children with the best quality, organic, home cooked meals. We have an 11 day rolling menu with a two course lunch and tea.

Main responsibilities will include:

Preparing and cooking snack, a two course lunch and a two course tea



Clearing up from tea. Our kitchen assistant will clear up after breakfast, snack and lunch



Designing and creating nutritionally balanced, delicious menus that change with the seasons, including input from the managers and second chef



Ensuring the smooth daily running of the kitchen



Maintaining exceptionally high standards of hygiene and cleanliness to uphold our 5-star hygiene rating



Catering for children's individual dietary needs, including allergies



Managing the kitchen team



To be flexible to meet the needs of the kitchen and wider nursery



To clean and shut down the kitchen at the end of the day



This role would suit somebody that is looking for a varied role and someone that is willing to 'muck in' where needed, to ensure that all domestic duties required for the smooth running of the nursery, take place effectively. Some professional kitchen experience and food handling is essential and experience of cooking for large numbers would be desirable.
