SRUC manages five farms of over 4400 hectares, to provide research, education and knowledge transfer in dairying, arable, beef, upland/hill sheep systems, pig and poultry farming.
About the opportunity
In this role you will provide administrative support for the farm, creating purchase order numbers, sales orders and keeping accurate livestock records for cattle, sheep, and pigs for statutory requirements.
In this role, your duties will include:
Create purchase order numbers for monthly, annual and ad-hoc purchases before purchases are made.
Create sales orders for stock sold on farm.
Liaise and deal with any queries from finance and suppliers/clients.
Monthly accruals.
Maintain accurate Livestock records promptly to meet non-discretionary deadlines. Cattle movements/births/deaths accurately recorded to ScotEID and sheep movements to SAMU. Pedigree Registrations for cattle and sheep societies.
Ensure data input of weights, slaughter, vet and med information to the Farms Livestock Record Programme
Input bills and invoices into Xero monthly.
Assist the Farm Manager with the farm budget and monthly forecasting, providing data where required.
Assist with the procurement of farm inputs e.g. fertiliser and feed to comply with the procurement reporting of SRUC to Scottish Government.
