Farnham Integrated Care Service (FICS) is a federation offering services at the heart of Farnham Primary Care Network (PCN). Serving patients from our GP Practices, offering various clinical and non-clinical NHS commissioned services. FICS offers both reactive and proactive care through urgent same day care services and integrated care management.
Role Summary
The ideal candidate will be a strong, proactive and adaptable leader with a proven ability to balance strategic oversight and hands?on operational management. They will be a detail?oriented yet forward?thinking individual. Experienced and motivated, with a passion in healthcare for delivering high?quality outcomes for patients and our partner practices.
The FICS Manager will play a key role in managing the operational delivery and contractual responsibilities of Farnham Integrated Care Services (FICS). They will design, embed and manage commissioned services, ensuring operational excellence, CQC compliance, and strong collaborative working across partner practices and external stakeholders. The role will line manage and support a team of clinical and non-clinical staff.
Key Responsibilities
1. Strategic and Operational Management
Oversee the planning, delivery, and evaluation of FICS services, contributing to strategic objectives and performance frameworks. Ensure smooth daily operations, drive innovation and efficiency, and coordinate cross-practice projects and quality improvement initiatives.
2. Contract and Service Oversight
Manage contracts, SLAs, and commissioned projects, ensuring compliance, renewals, and performance reporting. Oversee appointment systems, gather and analyse patient and staff feedback, and maintain strong relationships with external providers. Ensure governance, audit requirements, and patient satisfaction monitoring are met.
3. Financial and Resource Management
Oversee budgets and financial planning, contribute to cost analysis and funding applications, and support accurate payroll processes.
4. People and Workforce Support
Lead recruitment, onboarding, and staff management, ensuring training compliance and performance reviews. Oversee rotas, promote a positive working culture, and maintain HR documentation. Manage disputes, grievances, absence, and disciplinary processes while keeping up with employment legislation.
5. Governance and Quality Assurance
Ensure compliance with CQC standards, policies, and procedures. Oversee insurance, business continuity, complaints, investigations, and risk management. Maintain data protection, confidentiality, health and safety, and up-to-date governance documentation.
6. Communication and Relationship Management
Act as a key contact for partner practices and stakeholders, coordinate PCN communications, and foster collaboration across teams. Represent FICS in meetings and ensure services adapt to evolving primary care priorities.
7. IT, Data, and Reporting
Ensure accurate data capture and reporting, support digital transformation, and produce insights to inform decision-making. Oversee staff compliance with IT systems and policies.

Essential
Experience in healthcare, primary care, or service management
CQC awareness

Proficiency in Microsoft Office and digital systems
Financial and contract management awareness

Experience working within a Primary Care Network or GP Federation

Knowledge of PCN DES and ICB frameworks
Project management qualification or equivalent experience
Experience with EMIS, Ardens, or NHS reporting tools
Formal finance or procurement training
