We're looking for a Part-Time Fashion Designer to join the nkdapparel team. This role is ideal for a creative individual who is passionate about athleisure, activewear trends, and seasonal colour direction. You'll help shape our upcoming collections by researching trends, developing design concepts, and creating styles that align with the nkdapparel aesthetic.
Key Responsibilities
Research global and local fashion, colour, and lifestyle trends relevant to the athleisure market.
Design seasonal collections and capsule drops that reflect the brand's direction.
Create mood boards, sketches, CADs, and colour palettes for presentation.
Select suitable fabrics, trims, and finishes that balance function, comfort, and fashion.
Collaborate with the founder and production partners on sample development.
Review prototypes, participate in fittings, and make design adjustments as needed.
Keep up to date with sustainable materials, performance fabrics, and emerging design technologies.
Support the team in preparing materials for marketing and campaign shoots when needed.
Manage design timelines effectively and ensure all deliverables are completed on schedule for seasonal launches.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Fashion Design, Textile Design, or related field (or equivalent hands-on experience).
1-3 years' experience in athleisure, activewear, or sportswear design preferred.
Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and Procreate.
Strong eye for colour, fabric, silhouette, and trend direction.
Knowledge of garment construction and fit.
Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and adapt within a small, fast-growing team.
