Job Overview

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Care Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in providing high-quality care to individuals in various settings, including assisted living, nursing homes, and home care environments. This role requires a strong commitment to enhancing the quality of life for our clients, particularly those with specific needs such as Alzheimer's, dementia, or hospice care.

Duties

Provide personal care and assistance with daily living activities for clients, including bathing, dressing, and grooming. Support clients with mobility and transfers, ensuring their safety and comfort. Administer medication as prescribed and monitor clients for any changes in condition. Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary requirements. Engage clients in meaningful activities that promote mental and physical well-being. Assist with behaviour management techniques for clients with challenging behaviours. Maintain accurate records of care provided and report any concerns to the supervising nurse or manager. Perform light housekeeping duties to ensure a clean and safe environment. Drive clients to appointments or social activities as needed.

Qualifications

Previous experience in caregiving or a related field is preferred, particularly in, domiciliary care, assisted living, nursing homes, or senior care settings. Knowledge of Alzheimer's care, dementia care, hospice care, and patient care practices is highly desirable. Certification in Care Certificate is an asset. Ability to perform heavy lifting when assisting clients with mobility needs. Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport with clients and their families. A valid driving licence is required for this role. A caring disposition with a genuine passion for helping others.
