What is the role?



We require candidates with previous experience in Telecoms Networks, ideally gained within an Openreach or similar PIA (Physical Infrastructure Access) environment, including relevant accreditations. You must hold current NRSWA and accreditations (minimum SA002 and N23) and be highly competent in cabling, splicing, and testing,

Select Electrics based in Bristol serve a wide Client Base Installing Optical fibre Circuits for Business across the South west of England.

Excellent communication, people management, and customer-facing skills are essential. You will need the ability to engage effectively with internal planning, project, and delivery teams, and represent the company professionally to external parties, including regional representatives. A key part of your role is acting as an ambassador for quality, driving high standards throughout the build phase to ensure successful audits and commissioning.

Reporting to the Network Manager you will be the main on-site presence for project delivery. You will be responsible for building and maintaining strong working relationships with Select Customers and other contractors. You must possess an in-depth understanding of the work programme and be empowered to make real-time decisions that contribute to its successful delivery. This includes representing Select effectively during high-profile site visits, demonstrating strong stakeholder management skills across all field operations.

Primary Responsibilities



Build and prepare the Access Network, from cabinets to customer premises (including rodding, cabling, splicing, testing, commissioning, customer handover). Expertly locate and repair network faults using tools like OTDR, OPM, LFD, and VFL. Ensure network builds meet quality, budget, and service standards through regular checks against technical specifications. Continuously seek to improve processes and efficiency. Provide excellent customer service. Report regularly to the Manager/Supervisor on build safety and quality. Keep network records accurate (provide images, diagrams, test results). Perform other relevant duties as requested by management.

What experience do I need?



Full UK driving license (max 6 points). Solid understanding of optical network construction and maintenance. Experience in fibre-optic installation, splicing, and distribution. Good knowledge of UK telecoms networks. Self-starter, able to work quickly in a dynamic environment. Calm under pressure. Strong interpersonal and customer-facing skills with a positive attitude. Excellent communication skills (written and verbal). Able to prioritise work independently. Builds good relationships easily. Strong collaborator. Practically competent. Proactive, takes ownership, delivers high-quality work. Able to work outdoors all year-round.
You may be asked to work overtime when authorised and as necessary by the needs of the business which may include out of hours/weekends.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: 32,000.00-40,000.00 per year
