How will you personally make a difference?


Your responsibility as field service engineer is to complete jobs on time, to the highest quality standards and to ensure all water reuse systems in our care operate efficiently to deliver optimum savings for the client.

Your activities will uphold our reputation with our clients and keep water reuse and its benefits, in the forefront of the sustainability agenda and be crucial to our goal of water reuse becoming the "norm" in all buildings in the UK. If the systems work well, people will want more of them and the industry will grow. Your role is crucial to us achieving our vision.

Working away from home


The majority of your time will be spent travelling and visiting client sites across the UK which will require you to stay away from home at least 3 nights a week. Some of your time will also need be spent at the office, re-stocking your vehicle and assisting colleagues in the workshop.

You will be given a schedule to follow each week, but are responsible for maximising your own time and using this for the benefit of the business. This may require longer hours than contracted in order to accommodate travel. You'll often need to think on your feet and come up with solutions to problems, whilst maintaining a strong attention to detail and sound judgement skills.

Key Responsibilities



Product maintenance and repair

Read, understand and follow all instructions set out in our installation and O&M manuals for all of our product ranges. Provide the highest quality maintenance services for all brands of rainwater harvesting products. Components include all types of filters, UV disinfection equipment, control equipment, electrical controls, tanks, pumps and valves. You will be using multiple mechanical, plumbing and electrical skills. Know how to identify issues with water quality and how to resolve them, including recommending tank cleans, legionella testing. Carry out remedial works and repairs to the highest standard. Know how to safely operate a mapress gun and install mapress fittings. Understand the requirements of WRAS and the British Standard BS EN16941. You should know how to carry out the following tasks to the highest standards; Filter runner replacements, Pipework upgrades, Booster pump repairs and replacements, Contactor replacements, Upload programmes to Schneider and Crouzet PLC's, Find, diagnose and fix faults with electrical programmes, Pump programming, Continuity and Amp Load testing, Safely isolate the electrical supply, Replace or repair pressure vessels within the control panels, Replace, repair and install free-standing pressure vessels, Replace junction boxes and electrical rotary isolators, Replacement of UV filtration bulbs. Carry out system assessments for non-operational Stormsaver systems and provide a detailed report with suggested solutions for the client. Pass these to the sales team for quotations. Work to meet your individual and team KPI's in terms work quality, timely delivery and customer satisfaction. Deliver the highest levels of customer service in everything that you do and understand that you are representing Stormsaver to the general public at all times both on site and when travelling to and from site. Work closely with the sales and operations teams to ensure that we deliver everything we have promised to the customer, efficiently and without problems. Always abide by and adhere to the RAMS provided and general health and safety requirements on site. Provide comprehensive training for new engineers in the maintenance team. Nurture and encourage them to meet their full potential.

Skills



You will need to have:

A Level 3 Electrical Qualification as a minimum. Full UK driving licence Flexibility to travel around the UK and stay away from home up to 3 nights a week with hotels and food budget. Computer literacy with experience of the basic Microsoft packages. Good understanding of Health & Safety at a work. Eagerness for training and be happy to work towards CSCS, working at heights and working in confined spaces qualifications, if not already achieved. Enthusiastic and hardworking attitude. Ability to think on your feet with sound judgement, and be self motivated. Organised and methodical, with attention to detail. Excellent teamworking skills, communication skills and confident telephone manner. Resilience and tenacity.

Experience



Whilst not essential, it would be an advantage to have the following experience:

Have worked within the construction industry, water industry or similar field Experience using a handheld CRM System Experience in confined space access Experience with pumps or control panels

The Package



A full-time position which gives you the opportunity to travel the UK. Some days will require you to attend our offices based at Hockerton, near Southwell in Nottinghamshire. All hotels are paid for, plus a daily food budget. Training wage 15.75 per hour, rising to 16.54ph (negotiable) for a Level 3 qualified engineer with experience. Hours will depend on business needs, but we can guarantee a minimum of 40 hours per week as standard. Due to high demand for our services, we also have many opportunities for overtime available, which is paid at double time on weekends. Additional annual bonus for hitting targets Progression opportunities to Commissioning and Installation Engineer available for the right candidate.
