Are you an experienced, electrically-biased Field Service Engineer with a proven track record on complex CNC machinery? Are you looking for a role with a high degree of autonomy where you can be the technical expert for high-value fibre laser systems?
If so, we want to hear from you. We are recruiting for a skilled FSE to join an expert team, taking primary responsibility for the installation, commissioning, planned maintenance, and reactive repair of high-quality fibre laser equipment at customer sites across the UK.
This is a demanding and rewarding role for a highly motivated, skilled engineer who can work independently and provide top-tier customer service.
What You'll Be Doing:
Managing the full installation and commissioning of state-of-the-art fibre laser cutting systems.
Performing proactive planned maintenance and urgent, reactive repairs to minimise customer downtime.
Acting as the lead technical expert to diagnose and troubleshoot complex electrical, control system, software, and mechanical faults.
Conducting rigorous testing, calibration, and alignment to ensure optimal machine performance.
Providing high-standard, comprehensive training to end-users on machine operation, software, and maintenance.
Managing a dynamic, nationwide schedule with extensive UK travel, including regular overnight stays.
Undertaking full company-provided training to expand your skills, learning to service our wider range of sheet metal machinery.
What We Need From You:
This is an experienced-level role, not a trainee position. We are looking for:
A proven track record as a Field Service Engineer working on fibre lasers or similar complex CNC machinery.
A strong electrical/electronic bias, with outstanding fault-finding skills on complex control systems.
A Level 4 (or equivalent) qualification in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or a related technical field.
The ability to confidently read and interpret electrical schematics and technical service manuals.
Solid mechanical skills to complement your electrical expertise.
Experience with CNC control systems and associated software (e.g., CAD/CAM).
Excellent communication and customer-facing skills - you are the face of the company.
A high degree of autonomy and the motivation to manage your own workload.
A full, clean UK driving license and the willingness to travel extensively nationwide.
The flexibility to stay away from home regularly as required by the job.
A valid passport and the ability to travel to Europe for occasional installations or service calls.
What You'll Get in Return:
We value our engineers and invest in our team. As part of a growing business offering excellent job security, you will receive:
A competitive salary starting from 36,000+ (DOE).
A company vehicle, company phone, and company laptop.
All specialist tools and equipment provided.
All expenses paid.
A comprehensive Employee Support Programme.
Paid holidays and a government pension scheme.
A Christmas shutdown period to spend time with your family.
Ongoing training and professional development opportunities to keep your skills at the cutting edge.
