Service Engineer - Universal Converting Equipment(FULL TIME)

This is a split role involving the installation and commissioning of machinery. Candidates must live within a commutable distance of Ipswich.

As a Service Engineer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient operation and optimal performance of our advanced machinery at customer sites. You will be an essential part of our commitment to providing first-class service and support to our valued customers.

Key Responsibilities

Installation and Commissioning:

Carry out the installation and commissioning of our slitting and rewinding equipment at customer sites, ensuring accurate setup and full compliance with safety standards. International travel is required.

Preventive Maintenance:

Perform routine inspections and scheduled maintenance to proactively identify issues and ensure reliable, uninterrupted machine operation.

Troubleshooting:

Diagnose and resolve technical faults promptly and effectively, using your expertise to deliver robust solutions and minimise downtime.

Technical Support:

Provide high-quality technical assistance to customers via phone, email, and on-site visits. Offer clear guidance on operational issues and maintain strong product knowledge.

Training:

Deliver training sessions for customers and their operators to maximise equipment performance, productivity, and safety compliance.

Spare Parts Management:

Work closely with the spare parts team to maintain accurate records and support customers in obtaining required components quickly.

Continuous Improvement:

Actively contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, offering insights and ideas to enhance product performance and customer satisfaction.

Documentation:

Maintain clear and accurate documentation of service activities, reports, and customer interactions within our internal systems.

Health and Safety Compliance:

Follow all health and safety procedures, ensuring a safe working environment for yourself and others during service activities.

Requirements

Engineering Qualification:

A degree or diploma in mechanical, electrical, or a related engineering discipline.

Industry Experience:

Previous experience servicing slitting and rewinding equipment, particularly within the food or medical sectors, is highly advantageous.

Technical Competence:

Strong understanding of mechanical systems, electrical circuits, and control systems, with the ability to interpret technical drawings and schematics.

Problem-Solving Ability:

A proven ability to identify and resolve complex technical issues using logical and analytical methods.

Communication Skills:

Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to work professionally with customers and internal teams.

Customer Focus:

A strong commitment to meeting customer needs and delivering outstanding service at all times.

Travel:

Willingness to travel extensively to customer sites, both within the UK and internationally.
