We have an exciting opportunity for an organised and highly motivated Field Service Engineer to join our team in Leicester.
The successful applicant will deliver the highest standards of field service support to our Patients, including repairing, servicing and maintaining wheelchairs both in our dedicated workshop and out in the field; whilst ensuring field service administration requirements are up to date and maintained at all times.
Key Responsibilities:
Assess and diagnose faults on wheelchairs (both manual and powered) and undertake appropriate repairs, adjustments and fitting of wheelchair components/accessories in the patient's home/community/school to ensure that the equipment is functional and safe for patient use under instruction from Senior Clinical/Technician colleagues.
Carry out basic programming/diagnostics of powered wheelchairs.
Load and unload equipment, checking equipment prior to fittings and monitoring van stock.
Partake in the out of hours emergency repair service.
Undertake administration tasks to support the clinical and technical teams.
Skills and Experience:
Essential:
Excellent customer service with a high level of professionalism and diplomacy.
Clear, confident communicator with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams to build positive working relationships.
Strong practical abilities, to enable safe use of a range of basic tools.
Physically fit to meet the demands of role, including manual handling.
A willingness to learn.
Desirable:
Previous experience working within an engineering or mechanical role.
Experience working with wheelchairs in a technical capacity.
Qualifications
No formal qualifications are required for this role; however ideal candidates will have a good standard of literacy and numeracy. Qualifications obtained in an engineering or mechanical role are advantageous but not essential.
In addition, candidates must have:
A full UK driving licence
The ability to undertake an Enhanced Disclosure Barring Service (DBS) check
