Overview


We are seeking a skilled and proactive Maintenance Engineer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the optimal functioning and safety of our manufacturing equipment and facilities. Duties



Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance on machinery and equipment to minimise downtime. Diagnose faults using schematics, electrical diagrams, and PLC programmes; implement effective repair solutions. Perform welding, mechanical repairs, and electrical work as required to maintain equipment integrity. Develop and update maintenance schedules based on operational needs and manufacturer recommendations. Supervise maintenance teams, providing guidance and ensuring adherence to safety protocols. Lead troubleshooting efforts during machinery failures, minimising production disruptions. Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections for compliance purposes. Collaborate with production teams to coordinate maintenance activities with minimal impact on operations. Ensure all work complies with health and safety regulations, promoting a safe working environment. Provide excellent customer service internally by supporting operational needs efficiently.

Requirements



Proven experience in maintenance engineering within an industrial or manufacturing environment. Strong knowledge of programmable logic controllers (PLCs), schematics, electrical systems, and mechanical components. Demonstrated welding skills and mechanical knowledge essential for repair tasks. Electrical experience with a solid understanding of electrical systems and safety standards. Previous supervisory or leadership experience in managing maintenance teams or projects. Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively. Good command of English, both written and spoken, for documentation and communication purposes. Customer service orientation with the ability to work collaboratively across departments. Relevant qualifications in engineering or technical trades are highly desirable. Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From 12.50 per hour

Expected hours: 20 - 50 per week

Work Location: Hybrid remote in Pontypool NP4 7BT
