D-Tech International Ltd is a privately owned company and has been established since 2002, we are one of the UK's leading suppliers of high performance technology products and services for public space locations in the UK and overseas. Our success has been built in the library sector but in recent years we have seen an increase in cross-sector demand for Storage Lockers, RFID technologies and Self-Service Kiosks for tracking, managing, protecting and forecasting demand.
We are currently looking for a Field Service Engineer (trainees considered) to join our friendly team, Ideally the candidate would have experience within the Library Security Sector, although this is not necessary as 'on the job training' will be provided.
We are looking for someone located near to our offices in Rendlesham Suffolk, if you are not local, please do not apply. This is a customer facing position, in this role you will be required to attend customer sites mainly around the UK, there will be rare occasions where overseas travel will be required, you will also be required to stay away from home from time to time, depending on the business needs. You will be officed based on the days when there are no site visits to attend.
Installation of new hardware i.e. Self-Service kiosk's, security antennas, vending machines, Locker Systems and People Counters (this may involve chasing floors and drilling through walls etc...)
Manual handling of delivering Lockers and Self-Service Kiosks
Driving a low loader style van
Working at height using ladders/Scaffolding.
Replacement and configuration of faulty hardware, anything from a PC/SSD to hardware modifications/alterations of Kiosks and Lockers
Installation of our software
Fault finding with hardware and software.
Provide staff training.
Keeping documentation updated along with following company processes and procedures
Maintaining vehicle Stock
Follow Health & Safety procedures
Attending the office to assist with work in production or Customer Support on an ad-hoc basis as and when required.
We are looking someone who is committed and willing to learn as well as a 'can do attitude' as this position requires a varied skill set.
Experience working with Windows 10 & 11
Experience with Installation of software applications.
Understanding of how a network works
Ability to use power tools for installing equipment
Good customer communication skills.
Reliable, conscientious and presentable
Ability to work as part of a team and as an individual.
Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
Ability to speak to customers at all levels.
Excellent telephone manner.
Minimum of 3 points on your UK Driving licence
Benefits: A competitive salary is on offer depending on experience. 28 days holiday including bank holidays (rising 1 day per year once you have been with the company for 5 years, to a maximum of 25 days in total) generous Pension Scheme. There is also a commission scheme for engineers.
This position is dependent on a DBS check being carried out (Disclosure & Barring Service) once shortlisted.
