Job Introduction

Igne is seeking a

Field Technician

within the

Construction Materials Testing

division to join the team in

Bellshill

.But, if you're imagining working in a sterile environment with a white coat, this is not the laboratory role for you! We test ground and soil samples with the very latest technology to support our construction sector clients to find cost-effective solutions for their building projects.This role will involve working out on site obtaining various soil and construction material samples and testing them in-situ. We are looking for field technicians with relevant experience in the role. What we need is for you to have a clean UK driving license and a desire to work outdoors in all weathers. This is a

full-time

job with excellent rates of pay and overtime (both in the week and over the weekend), and the opportunity to work in an exciting and growing sector along with excellent career opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

On-site testing and sampling of various construction materials e.g., asphalt, soils, aggregates and concrete Completion of test sheets and data entry onto tablets Liaising with senior members of staff on work schedules and testing procedures Working within in-house quality assurance systems Maintain high levels of health and safety in line with company policies

EssentialFull UK driving licence Previous experience in a UKAS accredited testing environment in a similar role You will need good communication skills - both written and verbal Manual handling and physical activity are daily requirements - samples can weigh in excess of 20kg You must be confident to work in a team environment and on your own Self-motivated, proactive and able to organise your own workload

DesirablePrevious experience in asphalt materials testing for highways, roads, or infrastructure projects On-site testing experience of asphalt materials, including density, compaction, and coring Knowledge of testing standards and processes CSCS card

Salary & Benefits:

Basic starting salary is 27,000 to 30,000 per annum and increases dependent on experience for candidates with key desired experience. Overtime is available after 40 hours and weekends at enhanced rates 33 days' holiday, inclusive of bank holidays Continual training and development Death in service scheme
