Manchester city centre (minimum 2 days in the office per week)

The Staff College designs and delivers high quality professional development opportunities for leaders and senior managers across the public sector, with a particular focus on local authority children's services.

Our work empowers leaders through co-constructed, peer supported and self directed learning, grounded in the principles of adult learning. We deliver a wide range of leadership and management programmes, workshops and coaching opportunities to strengthen leadership capacity across the sector.

About the Role



We are seeking a

reliable and highly organised Finance and Administration Coordinator

to join our team.

This role is ideal for someone who has an eye for detail and accuracy, enjoys maintaining structure and thrives on keeping things running smoothly behind the scenes. You'll play a key role in ensuring that our finance processes run effectively and efficiently to support the delivery of our programmes. This will include processing outgoing and incoming invoices, ensuring timely payment, along with monitoring associates and their contracted days.

You'll report to the Organisational Development Team Leader and work closely with colleagues across the organisation, including our associate pool who deliver our programmes. While this is a full time role, we are open to discussing part time arrangements (4 days per week) for the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities



Manage incoming and outgoing invoices, ensuring accuracy and timely processing. Monitor and follow up on unpaid invoices in a professional manner. Ensure contracts are in place for all bespoke and commissioned work, maintaining accurate and up to date records. Maintain effective working relationships with our associate and coaching pool who deliver projects on behalf of the organisation. Maintain effective working relationships with the organisation's appointed accountants and other financial partners. Provide general administrative support to the team, including maintaining financial documentation. Undertake any other duties as requested by their line manager to support the smooth running of the organisation.

Additional / Flexible Responsibilities



Support improvements to internal finance and administrative processes to enhance efficiency and consistency. Assist with occasional pieces of research, or policy updates as required. Help maintain databases and systems to ensure compliance with quality. Offer support with reporting where needed.

Knowledge/Skills/Experience Required



Essential



Experience of providing administrative and project support in an office environment with at least two years' experience, preferably in the area of finance Good written and verbal communication skills. Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing tasks. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook). Interest in business or financial administration.

Desirable



Experience in financial administration. Working knowledge of Xero and DocuSign (training can be provided). Understanding of finance processes and basic reporting. Familiarity with office 365 and collaborative online tools.
