FINANCE ADMINISTRATOR - PART TIME



Location:

Gateshead
Up to 21 hours per week | Flexible working pattern | 1 day per week in office, remainder remote

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented

Finance Administrator

to provide clerical and administrative support to our finance team. This part-time, hybrid role offers flexibility in working hours and a balance of office and home-based work. The position involves a mix of financial and administrative tasks to ensure the efficient running of finance operations.

You will be required to attend the office 1 day per week to meet the Finance Director, but hours can still be flexible on that day i.e. childcare etc

Key Responsibilities



Data Entry & Record Keeping:

Accurately input financial transactions, invoices, and expenses into spreadsheets or accounting software. Maintain and organise financial records (digital and physical).

Invoice & Expense Processing:

Verify, process, and prepare invoices for payment. Handle employee expense claims, ensuring compliance with company policies.

Reconciliation:

Assist with reconciling bank statements, credit card accounts, and other financial records, investigating and resolving discrepancies.

Communication:

Act as a first point of contact for finance-related queries, liaising with colleagues, suppliers, and other stakeholders.

Reporting:

Produce basic financial reports, including expense summaries and budget variance reports, to support the finance team.

Administrative Support

: Provide general office support such as managing correspondence, scheduling meetings, answering calls, and ordering supplies.

Skills & Qualifications



Technical Skills:

Proficiency in Microsoft Office (particularly Excel). Experience with accounting software (e.g. QuickBooks, SAP, or similar) is advantageous.

Attention to Detail:

High level of accuracy in data entry and financial record-keeping.

Organisational Skills:

Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritise effectively, and meet deadlines.

Communication Skills:

Strong written and verbal communication skills for engaging with internal and external contacts.

Integrity:

Professionalism, discretion, and a strong sense of responsibility when handling sensitive financial information.
