12-month fixed term contract with strong potential to become permanent


Salary:

Up to 25k depending on experience plus up to 10% annual bonus


Hours:

Monday to Friday 36.25 hours per week

As a Financial Administrator, you'll play a key role in supporting our Insurance Finance operations by delivering high-quality service to internal teams, suppliers, and employees. Working within established processes and procedures, you'll help ensure the accuracy and integrity of our financial systems particularly by maintaining strong financial control over our policy administration platform. Your attention to detail and commitment to compliance will help keep our financial operations running smoothly and efficiently.

What will I be doing?




In this role, you'll be responsible for a variety of finance-related tasks that ensure the smooth operation and financial integrity of our systems. Your key responsibilities will include:


Processing Transactions:

Accurately process financial transactions within our accounting and policy systems, ensuring all actions are properly authorised in line with departmental guidelines and audit requirements

Maintaining Financial Records:

Keep financial documentation up to date and accurate, meeting agreed deadlines and ensuring compliance with internal controls

Managing Payments:

Reconcile, control, and distribute card, cheque, and BACS payments to and from customers, ensuring each stage is appropriately authorised and recorded

Month-End Activities:

Complete month-end routines, including financial reconciliations of control and bank accounts, and prepare balance sheet reconciliations as needed

Resolving Queries:

Act as a point of contact for customer, supplier, and employee queries investigating and resolving issues promptly while offering clear advice and support

Excel Reporting:

Create and maintain Excel spreadsheets with accurate formulas, ensuring data integrity and clear documentation of processes

What do I need?




To succeed in this role, you'll bring a blend of financial knowledge, technical skills, and personal qualities that support accuracy, efficiency, and collaboration.



Skills & Experience


Solid financial understanding and experience in a similar role Strong desktop skills, particularly in Microsoft Excel (formulas, spreadsheets, data handling) Confident in gathering data, interrogating systems, and performing analysis Experience with SAP is desirable Familiarity with finance and accounting policies and procedures is a plus

Education & Qualifications


Minimum of GCSE-level education (or equivalent)
