Job Purpose:





We're looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Finance Assistant to support our finance team with day-to-day financial operations. The ideal candidate will assist with payroll, bookkeeping, data entry, account reconciliations, and general administrative tasks to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.



You will work closely with the Head of Finance (HOF) and other Heads of Department (HODs) to drive better financial understanding and decision-making across the club.

Role and Responsibilities:




Process and record financial transactions, including invoices, receipts, and payments. Assist in managing accounts payable & accounts receivable and perform regular creditor Payment runs. Assist with payroll preparation and general payroll administration and processing. Reconcile bank & credit card statements and other financial records. Maintain accurate financial records and filing systems. Support the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports. Assist with budget tracking and expense reporting. Help prepare documentation for audits. Liaise with internal departments and external vendors as needed. Perform administrative tasks such as data entry, scanning, and document management. Ensure compliance with financial policies and procedures. Support improvements to our systems for financial reporting and analytics, working closely with the IT department. Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement, encouraging smarter, more efficient processes. Assist with ad hoc financial analysis and internal reporting as required.

Qualifications / Educational Requirements:





Would suit someone studying towards a professional qualification (AAT, CIMA, or ACCA) who's ready to take the next step in their career and gain hands-on experience in a supportive, collaborative environment.

Preferred Skills and Experience:




Proven experience as a Finance Assistant or similar role. Basic knowledge of financial and accounting principles. Proficiency in MS Excel and accounting software (e.g. Sage). Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Excellent organisational and time management skills. Good communication and interpersonal abilities. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
