About Us:

The Stable Family Home Trust is a values-led organisation where people always come first. Our main purpose is to support adults with learning disabilities to develop the skills and confidence that enable them to live their lives as independently as possible; to participate in their local communities and be valued for the extraordinary contribution they make to our society. We run a varied and exciting day services programme from our three sites in Christchurch, Ringwood and Southbourne, and run supported living and residential living services in Southbourne and Ringwood.

The Trust is a Registered Charity established in 1980 by a group of families whose young adult children had learning disabilities - we now support over 100 people every year.

About You:

You are a detail-oriented and reliable Finance and Payroll Assistant and will play a key role in supporting the financial operations of our Trust. Your work will help ensure that staff are paid accurately and on time, financial records are maintained to a high standard, and reporting processes run smoothly.

You will bring a strong sense of accuracy, confidentiality, and professionalism to everything you do, with a proactive approach to problem-solving and a commitment to compliance. Your support will be essential in helping the organisation remain financially healthy and transparent, enabling us to continue delivering vital services to people with learning disabilities. You will need to be qualified to AAT Level 3 or above.

You are also someone who values the impact of your work beyond the numbers; understanding that efficient financial systems are key to creating lasting change in the lives of those we support.

About the Role:

As the Finance and Payroll Assistant, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth and accurate financial and payroll operations of the charity. You will be responsible for preparing and processing the monthly payroll, including additional hours and allowances, as well as administering staff leave and benefits through Sage and related systems.

Your role will involve supporting both finance and HR functions; adding new starters to payroll and benefits schemes, tracking annual leave, and maintaining driving documentation for staff using their own vehicles for work purposes.

You will work closely with the Finance Manager to prepare and submit monthly invoices to local authorities, process sales and purchase invoices, and manage payment runs. You will also take ownership of key tasks such as conducting petty cash audits, managing Gift Aid contributions, and overseeing the distribution and collection of fundraising receptacles.

This is a varied and hands-on role that requires attention to detail, strong organisational skills, and the ability to manage multiple processes efficiently.
