As a Finance & Payroll Assistant, you'll work closely with the Finance Team to ensure our financial records are accurate, up to date, and compliant. You'll be responsible for a wide range of duties including accounts payable and receivable, payroll processing, and general finance administration.
Responsibilities
Manage Accounts Payable
- Set up suppliers, process invoices, and oversee timely payments.
Invoice Processing
- Load and approve invoices using Xero and Dext.
Expense & Credit Card Administration
- Validate and reconcile internal expenses and company card transactions.
Accounts Receivable Oversight
- Raise invoices, monitor debts, and support collections.
Payroll Coordination
- Collate timesheets, update employee data, and liaise with payroll providers.
Payroll Record Maintenance
- Keep accurate payroll records and handle related queries.
VAT & Statistical Returns
- Assist with quarterly VAT submissions and Office for National Statistics returns.
Internal Controls Monitoring
- Document and review financial procedures and controls.
General Finance Support
- Handle ad hoc finance and administrative tasks as needed.
Essential Qualifications
GCSE Maths and English pass grade 5-9 (A to C)
Desirable Qualifications
AAT Level 2 Certificate in Accounting
Skills and Experience
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel for data analysis purposes
Knowledge/experience of Xero accounting software
Excellent data entry skills with a high level of attention to detail
Experience of payroll processing
Knowledge of software such as Dext (financial document processing software) and Pleo (company spend management software)
