Are you eager to start your career in Finance and Accounting? Join our friendly and supportive team at the Cancer Research UK Cambridge Institute as a Finance Apprentice. We are a department of the University of Cambridge, and a world-leading cancer research institute. Our mission is to understand all aspects of the disease so that we can prevent, detect, and treat cancer, enabling patients to lead longer, better lives, free from the fear of cancer. The Research Grants and Finance Team plays a key role in supporting this mission by managing our diverse portfolio of funding - including the CRUK core award, external research grants, and donations.
You will be part of our departmental finance team of eight, working closely with a supportive group of four finance assistants.
You'll be involved in:
Checking supplier statements. Clearing commitments on open purchase orders. Setting up new users and financial accounts on our core facilities booking system. Producing and distributing budget reports. Assisting with credit control and general finance administration.
No prior finance experience is necessarythis role is well-suited to those at the beginning of their career or those looking to transition into accounting from another field
This is a full-time role (36.5 hours per week) working Monday to Friday, including one day per week studying at First Intuition (Cambridge).
