AAT Level 2 Apprentice Finance Assistant
. This role is ideal for someone looking to start a career in finance while gaining hands-on experience in a busy and supportive team environment.
Role Purpose
As a Finance Assistant Apprentice, you will support our finance operations by assisting with invoicing, reconciliations, and financial reporting. You will work closely with colleagues across departments, helping ensure smooth day-to-day finance functions while developing key skills through the AAT Level 2 apprenticeship programme.
Key Responsibilities
Process and log purchase and sales invoices using accounting software
Support the reconciliation of bank statements and petty cash
Assist with credit control by contacting clients and tracking payments
Prepare and input journals and data for month-end processes
Help with supplier statement reconciliations and payment runs
Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records and files
Assist with preparing internal reports and client financial documentation
Support payroll and expenses processing when required
Liaise with site teams and admin staff to ensure proper financial documentation is in place
Handle sensitive financial data with confidentiality and professionalism
What We're Looking For
Essential:
5 GCSEs at grade A-C / 9-4 (including English and Maths) Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn
Good communication skills, both written and verbal
Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel
Organised, self-motivated, and able to work to deadlines
A genuine interest in a career in finance and accounting
Desirable:
Previous office or administrative experience (including part-time work or volunteering)
Interest in the property, construction, or facilities management sectors
