We're looking for a Finance Assistant Apprentice to join us in Bradford.
Our Finance Assistant Apprentice roles will suit an individual with an interest in a career in finance and who wishes to pursue a professional accountancy qualification through an apprenticeship scheme. Our apprenticeships are designed for people starting out in finance, to those with some experience and are a great starting place to become senior finance leaders.
You'll be working as an Accountant within Liberty Blume. The Shared Service team is based in Bradford, which in addition to Finance also includes Claims, Finance Systems, Payment Operations and Employee Services to Liberty Global.
We're looking for people who are serious about learning and growing, particularly within a Finance environment, and who can take a logical, methodical, and proactive approach to work. We will ensure that you receive the necessary training to make you well rounded finance professionals by the end of your apprenticeship. Candidates who are looking to pursue a career in Finance and have completed their A-levels and/or who have started their AAT qualification would be ideal for this role.
By the end of your apprenticeship, you'll also have achieved your AAT Level 3 Advanced Diploma in Accounting. This will be a great kick start to your accounting career!
What will you be doing?
Accountabilities include but are not limited to:Month end accounting for Liberty Global Central including preparing journals.
Data processing e.g. raising invoices or performing daily bank reconciliations.
SOX compliance.
Participation in ad-hoc projects.
To create reporting that identifies risk and opportunity in the end-to-end processing operation
Production of management information to advise how the automated process has performed and actions needed by the team or automation development team to fix.
To understand the workings of both key automated processes, and where manual such that complete, accurate and timely reporting is produced.
To review reporting outputs to identify trends, anomalies, risk and opportunity in the processing operation, and to flag these to the relevant Team Lead
We tend to look for people with:
Essential:Strong computer literacy including Microsoft Office, Excel, PowerPoint.
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Experience of delivering to deadlines.
3 A-levels (A-C) or equivalent.
Desirable:AAT L2 (preferred but not essential).
Financial and process control mind-set.
Logical and methodical approach to work.
Continuous improvement, looking for opportunities to improve existing processes.
Attention to detail and ability to identify and drive the resolution of errors or issues

This role will be based out of our Bradford office (BD4) we encourage candidates to apply that are within a commutable distance, you will be expected to work in the office on a hybrid basis, typically 2-3 days per week.
