Salary: 26,000 - 30,000 per annum dependent on experience and pro rata

Hours: Part-time, 20-30 hours per week

Salary for 20 hours: 14,857 to 17,143 per annum

Salary for 30 hours: 22,286 to 25,714 per annum

Contract: Permanent

Reporting to: Finance Manager

Centre 404 is a vibrant charity dedicated to supporting people with learning disabilities and their families. Based in North London, we currently work across eight London boroughs. We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Finance Assistant to join our Finance team and help ensure the smooth running of our finance operations.

About the Role



As Finance Assistant, you'll play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records, supporting month-end processes, and providing excellent service to staff, suppliers, and stakeholders. You'll work closely with the Finance Manager to uphold strong financial controls and contribute to the charity's long-term sustainability.

Key Responsibilities



Maintain purchase and sales ledgers, process payments, and manage credit control

Perform bank reconciliations and ensure accurate transaction recording

Support month-end procedures and audit preparation

Respond to finance queries and monitor shared inboxes

Handle finance post, banking, and petty cash processes

Contribute to process improvements and team collaboration

About You



We're looking for someone with at least one year's experience in finance, ideally within a charity or not-for-profit setting. You'll be studying towards or hold an accountancy qualification (AAT/ACCA/CIMA), and have a keen eye for detail, strong problem-solving skills, and a positive, team-focused attitude.

You'll bring:

Experience in bookkeeping, credit control, and BACS payments

Familiarity with finance systems (Accounting Seed desirable)

Excellent communication and organisational skills
