ABOUT THIS ROLE

The Finance Assistant will provide essential support to the Trafalgar Venues Finance Department, with a particular focus on settlements, invoicing, and bank and cash management. As part of a determined, fun, and supportive finance team, the Finance Assistant will help ensure accurate and timely financial information to support high-quality reporting and effective decision-making across the business.



ABOUT YOU


Experience


This is an entry-level role; prior finance experience is not essential.
Some exposure to finance or administration work (e.g., through internships, voluntary work, or study) would be advantageous.

Skills


Strong communication skills and ability to build good working relationships.
Team player, willing to engage in departmental and company activities/events.
Ability to remain calm and effective under pressure and meet deadlines.
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to act quickly to resolve issues.
Basic Microsoft Excel skills (desirable).

Knowledge


Interest in numbers and theatre/entertainment industry.
Basic understanding of invoices and bank statements/reconciliations (desirable).

Attitude


Positive, proactive, and flexible approach to work.
Professional, approachable, and presentable manner.
Willingness to work occasional evenings, weekends, and/or Bank Holidays if required.
Commitment to personal learning and professional development.






KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Prepare journals as required.
Review monthly credit card and petty cash reconciliations; post journals accordingly.
Assist the Management Accountants with month-end processes.
Complete monthly bank reconciliations.
Process settlements across the venues.
Prepare monthly central statistics forms.
Support delivery of team objectives and assist colleagues as required.
Carry out ad hoc financial analysis and reporting tasks.
Build and maintain strong working relationships with venue staff and colleagues across the business.
Undertake any other duties reasonably required, in line with skills and experience.
