The Role

This role sits with the Finance Compliance team within Eversheds Sutherland globally, the core purpose of which is to drive Finance regulatory policy, processes, governance and controls across all areas of the firm, with a particular focus on client money and SRA Accounts Rules compliance.

At a time of significant systems and technology development within the firm, this role will support the compliance change agenda with truly global exposure.

Key Responsibilities

Reporting to the Finance Compliance Manager, your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting SRA Accounts Rules compliance of all Finance processes across all entities and jurisdictions globally
  • Becoming a key contact of the wider business for SRA Accounts Rules advice and guidance, dealing with client money queries and mitigation of breaches
  • Liaising with the Governance & Compliance (Risk) function to ensure alignment of policy and regulatory requirements across processes that impact both Finance and Risk, eg AML, sanctions and fraud
  • Preparing key reconciliations relating to financial compliance processes on a regular basis, identifying trends and issues arising, and taking ownership to resolve
Skills and Experience

We are looking for someone with:
  • A strong background in finance and finance processes
  • A passion for risk or regulatory compliance
  • Experience of operating within a professional services environment - legal sector Knowledge or an understanding of client money concepts is highly desirable
