Job title: Finance Consultant

Location: Poole

Duration: 12 Months - Maternity Cover

The Role:

The Accountant II - Finance (AIIF) Qualified candidate will perform moderately complex accounting activities relating to the maintenance of a complete and accurate general ledger and the resultant managerial reports and financial statements Duties may include, but are not limited to, the following: general ledger account analysis, reconciliations, journal entries, accounts receivable, accounts payable, billings, and various other ad-hoc duties.
Minimum Education: Bachelor\'s degree, preferably in accounting; or equivalent work experience. Experience with accounting applications such as PeopleSoft and significant experience and advanced knowledge of Excel.

Responsibilities:

  • Accurate reconciliation of client positions through applying updates to WSO (Bookkeeping tool) and tying out with the agent.
  • Updating client\'s principal and interest activity where required from sourcing agent notices.
  • Liaising with internal teams and the agent with regards to resolution of any breaks/discrepancies.
  • Working alongside another MO team to ensure data accuracy between our bookkeeping platform and theirs.
  • Processing, answering and where necessary escalating client queries.
  • Project management assistance, particularly in the migration of WSO to the new platform Solvas.
  • Ensuring allocated training is completed in a timely manner.
  • When fully competent, will be able to work on a weekly rotation of reports comfortably to ensure adequate coverage especially during planned or unplanned absence on the team.
  • Workflow improvements - Scrutinising current reports to ensure they meet client requirements, seeking opportunities for automation where feasible and general productivity enhancements.
Requirements:
  • One or more years of working in a Corporate Trust or Operations role within an asset management setting. Previous banking or insurance experience beneficial.
  • Knowledge of the world of loans such as CLOs and trade lifecycle.
  • Beginner - intermediate Microsoft Office knowledge.
  • Familiarity with WSO, Solvas, ClearPar and Digitize or other widely available financial bookkeeping/ platforms.
  • An individual with a close attention to detail.
  • Methodical in their approach to problem solving.
  • An eagerness and willingness to continue learning in line with the team/role\'s evolution.
  • Confident in identifying and escalating issues promptly.
  • Able to effectively manage their time and prioritise aspects of their workload, especially during busier periods.
