We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Systems Accountant to join our finance organisation to support the Leonardo UK SAP team providing specialist systems knowledge to support and deliver future business enhancements and development requests.

As a business we are undertaking a significant Digital Transformation programme with the Finance Systems team leading on several substantial projects over the coming few years. In addition we are establishing a long term programme to explore and integrate over the horizon technology and this role will provide a key part of delivering these changes.

This team consists of a cross divisional system and process specialists with part of (this role) dealing with external consultancy support which in most cases will be offshore but for specific projects may be on shore. Supporting finance processes, interfaces, data and the global finance community with a core skill in understanding and supporting Project Accounting.

What you\xe2\x80\x99ll do as a Finance & Control Senior Systems Accountant;

• Support the existing SAP Finance user community in achieving transactional excellence and process understanding in their daily activities. Support the development and design of world-class, global financial processes and procedures applicable to the Leonardo line of business through investigation of Customer needs, current practices and best practice.
• Guide and train divisional teams in the adoption and implementation of the agreed best practice processes and procedures on a UK basis aligning to Corporate strategy.
• Work as part of a successful team to deliver the configuration and development of the required SAP system functionality and the implementation of consistent system processes globally. Specific responsibility for the core financial modules of SAP FI/CO, as well as related sub-modules, receivables, payables and assets, (AR/AP/AM). Implied requirement to ensure that the core financial systems support the reporting modules in SAP and the higher-level Business Warehouse reporting.
• Create, maintain and publish full documentation of systems, processes, procedures and training materials
• Work closely across the SAP functional areas to ensure end to end process activity is consistent, integrated and correctly represented and understood financially
• Work with the off shore team (where applicable) to achieve optimal systems solution within budget and timescales

What we need from you:

• We really need you to be either a Qualified/ Part-Qualified accountant or Graduate with significant experience in a commercial organisation or significant System support experience in large ERP environments.

You really must have

• Experience in business process re-engineering / change management and project management, ideally in a multi-national company environment.
• Proficient in investigating and defining processes (As-is). Developing business solutions (To-be) and the ability to map the delta change (Gap analysis)
• SAP FI and CO investigate skills and understanding of system configuration.
• Ideally your experience will cover FI (AR, AP, AM, GL) and CO (CCA, PA, OM, PCA). A good understanding of the integration of Finance modules with other SAP modules e.g. SD, SM, and MM is required.
• Strong interpersonal skills are a necessity. Specifically, must:

• Be an excellent team player and focused, forming strong working relationships in Finance global finance community and beyond
• Have excellent listening, oral and written communication skills.
• Be persuasive and assertive, without being abrasive
• Be plausible and effective when dealing with senior managers
• Strong computer literacy, with strong MS skills in Word, Excel, PowerPoint.

If would be nice if you had the following but not essential

• SAP HANNA experience
• Strong FICO Config skills
• Procurement and material management in respect to the integration with Finance
• Material Ledger Actual Closing,
• Cost Object Controlling, Production Orders Product Pricing and/or Sales Order Costing.
• CO-PA strong knowledge. An Understanding of ABAP.
• Derivation Rules, Validation / Substitution rules
