The Role
The purpose of the role is to pro-actively support all finance tasks across the business, including the North American subsidiary, working closely with external accountants in both the UK and Canada using Xero accounting software and internal Scoro software for CRM/Project management and MI reporting. It requires a focused and self-motivated individual with high attention to detail who can work independently. The role has regular contact with all stakeholders including clients so would suit an individual with excellent interpersonal skills.
ACCOUNTABILITIES

1. Invoice clients and collect payment to terms
2. Manage payments to colleagues, associates, suppliers and HMRC/CRA
3. Complete multi-currency bank reconciliations, reporting and month end processes
4. Prepare monthly details for 3rd party to complete payroll and manage pension scheme
5. Work collaboratively across functions and with accountants to ensure business effectiveness
Additional activities within the scope of this role
Manage client and product setup in Xero and ensure system effectiveness.
Produce accurate invoices, apply correct pricing/currency, and handle intercompany invoicing and reconciliations.
Monitor and reconcile transactions, expenses, and cash flow; organise supplier and tax payments.
Support credit control, respond to client queries, and keep Sales informed of issues.
Process payroll for UK and Canada, including new starters and leavers.
Prepare budgets, financial reports, and month-end journals; maintain accurate records.
Ensure compliance with processes and suggest improvements for efficiency.
Provide general finance support and assist with ad hoc tasks to drive organisational success.
PERSON SPECIFICATION
Essential Experience
Working independently in a busy multi-currency finance role
Dealing with HMRC/HST/VAT/withholding tax queries
Dealing with payroll/expenses/invoice queries
High level of attention to detail
Ability to organise own workload, prioritise tasks and meet deadlines at pace
Ability to build effective working relationships
Ability to identify problems and deliver/suggest effective solutions
Outstanding written and oral communicator and confident in handling difficult conversations in relation to credit control
Knowledge of UK and North American finance requirements
Producing financial reports in Excel
Qualifications & Skills
Minimum of AAT Level 2 or equivalent
Xero Accounting Software
Intermediate MS Office - Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Teams, Outlook, SharePoint
Desirable
CIPP Payroll Technician Certificate
Xero Advisor Certification
Experience with Scoro CRM
Experience with Wagepoint
