We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Finance Officer to join our organisation. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing financial transactions, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations. This role offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to the financial health of the organisation, utilising a range of accounting software and systems. The ideal applicant will possess strong data entry skills and a solid understanding of accounts payable processes within a dynamic financial services environment. The appointment calls for a good overall knowledge of Sales Ledger, Purchase Ledger, Nominal Ledger and bank reconciliations. Be IT literate with experience in MS-Office and 'hands-on' understanding of Financial Packages and a good knowledge and understanding of Payroll including Personal Taxation.
Responsibilities
Manage accounts payable processes efficiently using various accounting software.
Ensure accurate data entry of financial transactions into relevant systems.
Reconcile accounts and prepare financial reports in accordance with organisational policies.
Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities.
Maintain organised records of all financial documents and transactions for audit purposes.
Collaborate with other departments to ensure timely processing of invoices and payments.
Support month-end and year-end closing procedures.
Monitor compliance with financial regulations and internal controls.
Qualifications
Essential

Practical knowledge of Sales Ledger, Purchase Ledger and Nominal Ledger .
Good knowledge and understanding of Payroll including Personal Taxation
Strong knowledge of accounts payable processes and financial services operations.
Proficiency in data entry with high accuracy and attention to detail.
Ability to communicate clearly in writing and orally.
Excellent organisational and planning skills
Budget monitoring and setting.
Cash flow management.
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively.
Strong analytical skills coupled with the ability to interpret financial data accurately.

The successful applicant will be eligible to join the CRFCA Pension scheme. This is a Career Average Revalued Earnings scheme (CARE) in which the employer contribution is 13% and the employee contribution 5%.
The successful candidate will be entitled to 25 days' annual leave, plus bank holidays. Annual leave entitlement increases by 1 day per year up to 30 days; those with 5 years' prior service with HM Forces/OGD will start with 30 days' entitlement.
