We are seeking a highly organised and proactive
Finance & HR Assistant
to support our growing organisation. The role is vital to ensuring smooth financial processes and effective HR administration, acting as a key link between internal teams and external partners. This position suits someone detail-oriented, efficient, and comfortable working across both finance and people-focused tasks. We are also looking for someone who is comfortable working with Excel to aid data analysis and reporting.
Key Responsibilities
Finance Responsibilities
Support outsourced bookkeepers with management accounts period-end processes
, providing required information, coordinating with internal teams, and responding promptly to queries.
Update
biweekly cash flow forecasting
within Excel
Manage all Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable activities
, including preparing
biweekly payment runs
and carrying out
credit control for B2B customers
.
Support the purchase order process for stock purchasing
, including raising and booking in POs and maintaining effective supplier and courier communication. Acting as holiday cover for the Head of Purchasing.
Ensure all administration is correct for the monthly payroll;
and performing a first review of payroll reports prepared by our outsourced payroll provider.
Office administration
including monitoring kitchen supply levels and managing purchasing as required.
Perform
ad-hoc accounting work or data analysis
as required.
HR Responsibilities
Maintain accurate
employee records and HR documentation / systems
, working with WorkNest to ensure compliance with relevant policies and legislation.
Support the recruitment process
by preparing job adverts, scheduling interviews, and coordinating onboarding activities.
Prepare HR-related paperwork
, including contracts, offer letters, and policy updates.
Help coordinate training sessions and staff wellbeing initiatives.
Act as a
first point of contact
for routine HR queries.
Support
compliance
processes such as right-to-work checks and health & safety requirements.
Skills & Experience
Experience in a finance support or finance/HR hybrid role is desirable; training can be provided in some areas.
Strong organisational skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
Experience with accounting (Xero) or HR (PeopleNest) systems is beneficial but not essential.
Strong communication skills and ability to work with confidential information.
Comfortable managing multiple priorities and working proactively.
