Sharp Consultancy are delighted to be working with an industry-leading service business based in Chesterfield in their recruitment for a Finance Manager. This business provides their specialist services to a portfolio of national clients. Having showcased tremendous growth over the past few years, this business is looking to accommodate a highly qualified individual who can display a depth of knowledge whilst getting involved in operational and strategic tasks.

This opportunity is ideal for an ACA / ACCA / CIMA qualified individual looking to extend their career into a Finance Manager role with a more hands-on approach. You will report directly to the Financial Controller and Finance Director and be responsible for multiple-stakeholder management across the business. You will hold responsibility for the development of a couple of individuals within the team, whilst being practical and level-headed in your problem-solving capabilities. Previous Finance Manager experience is essential.

Duties include:

• Ownership of month-end responsibility including monthly balance sheet reconciliations and processing and reviewing month-end journals.
• Management and development of 2 individuals within the team.
• Completion of month, quarter and year-end accounting and reporting.
• Building and maintaining relationships with internal and external stakeholders across the business.
• Ensure all day-to-day operations are completed accurately and consistently
• Adding value to the business by streamlining and improving processes
• Play a pivotal role in supporting the finance function and perform ad-hoc duties across the wider department.

Person specification:

• ACA / ACCA / CIMA qualified
• Previous experience managing, developing and training direct reports
• Unwavering attention to detail and analytical nature
• Confidence to challenge & investigate where variances exist
• Exceptional organisational skills & the ability to work to strict deadlines
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
