DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION





The Group Reporting team is responsible for producing, analysing, reporting, and presenting the periodic operating performance of the C4 organisation. This includes financials such as P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash, Capex, KPIs (both financial and non-financial), and comparative performance analysis.



JOB PURPOSE





This role is crucial within the Group Reporting team, leading the periodic management accounting, budgeting, and forecasting for C4's Corporate & Operations business units. These business units encompass teams like Legal & Corporate Affairs, Executive, Strategy, Finance, People, and Workspace.



Specifically, the role reports to and supports the SFM-Group Accounting, consolidating and reporting all periodic management accounting requirements across all close periods (month, quarter, YTD, and FY).



It involves managing and maintaining data and reporting in line with internal controls, policies, and processes, as well as developing financial systems and reporting tools to enhance understanding of C4's operating performance.



It will also manage multiple stakeholder relationships across the Corporate and Operations business units and lead them through our periodic reporting, and in collaboration with our FP&A team, lead them through our forecasting and budgeting cycles.



Additionally, the role leads the management accounts team, acting as a dedicated conduit for corporate and operations stakeholders regarding YTD actual performance and forecast.



This includes helping stakeholders track, understand, and manage their budgets and performance for improved forecasts, integrating feedback and changes into reporting and analysis, influencing and supporting budget holders to deliver operational performance and reporting, and communicating information upwards.



The role also involves directly managing a team of three, including an MA, AMA, and apprentice, providing leadership, strategy, guidance, skills, and knowledge as required.



KEY RESPONSIBILITIES





Business Support


Lead the consolidated YTD management accounts for the Corporate & Operations business units. Lead the forecast, budget and 3YP collaboration between business unit stakeholders and the C4 FP&A team. Be a key point of contact for Corporate & Operations stakeholders for periodic and forecasting reporting. Collaborate with Head of Group Accounting, SFM-Group Accounting, Group FC, FP&A team, and CFO. Ensure seamless periodic management account consolidation. Deliver accurate, timely, and comprehensive reporting packs to support performance understanding. Help FP&A team and Finance Business Partners understand consolidated financial performance. Maintain good relationships with business budget holders to inform performance and decision-making. Mentor team members (MA, AMA & Apprentice) to better understand their roles and performance.

Management Information & Reporting


Oversee periodic reporting timetable and deliverables for the Corporate & Operations management accounts team. Ensure completeness and accuracy of monthly, quarterly, annual accounts, and related reports. Review and approve reporting packs and narratives. Guide and review work performed by Management Accountant, Assistant Management Accountant and apprentices ensuring accuracy across all areas. Review monthly management reports with FP&A team & business partners. Maintain relationships with external auditors.

Team Support


Lead and develop the dedicated Corporate & Operations management accounts team Support the Head of Group Reporting and SFM - Group Reporting in relation to all areas of the operational management accounts, including year-end related audits and statutory accounts compilation. Work with the external auditors on all related processes and reporting Work with the Internal Audit team on controls, efficiency, reporting and related projects

Other


Assist on improvements and development of the finance system(s), leading on the elements in relation to Corporate and Operaions Provide ad-hoc support for the Head of Group Reporting & SFM-Group Reporting & Group Financial Controller as required

ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE & SKILLS





Qualifications / Experience


Financial qualification with 3+ years relevant, post qualified management accounting experience Demonstrate experience of managing multiple stakeholders through reporting, forecasting and budgeting cycles. Demonstrable experience of managing consolidated management accounts teams and processes in relatively large and/or complex organisations Experience of recognised financial information system, preferably Oracle and Workday Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written and able to adapt style to different stakeholders. Advanced Excel Skills and intermediate Word / Powerpoint Enthusiastic and self motivated team player Excellent attention to detail Flexible and able to work to tight deadlines Demonstrable ability to improve / give valuable contribution to improvement in systems and processes High levels of personal credibility, professionalism and ethical standards Self-starter with ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver under tight deadlines. Be committed to and aligned with the Channel 4 remit

Hybrid working





From September 2023 employees will be working minimum 3 days per week in their office location. The other 2 days should be working from home. This is to create more time for collaboration, creativity, learning and feedback. We also have a working from another location policy for up to 10 days. This pattern is subject to future changes which would be communicated in advance to provide employees with adequate notice of any change. Basic salary per annum starting from



70,000.00

Hybrid working



From September 2023, C4 has operated a 60/40 working pattern, equating to three office days per week.
