The Role:
The Finance Manager Group Operations
is responsible for
managing
and supporting the Group Financial Operations Controller with the Financial Operations
team, covering Billing, Accounts Payable and Credit Control, ensuring their operations are efficient and accurate. This position is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day financial operations, and ensuring that financial controls and reporting are executed in line with the company's strategic goals. The Finance Manager will work closely with cross-functional teams and senior management to support decision-making, optimize resource allocation, and improve profitability while maintaining a high standard of financial integrity.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
In a managerial
capacity:

  • Ensure compliance with financial policies, controls, and procedures across operational finance functions.
  • Lead and mentor a team of finance professionals, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence.
  • Communicates deadlines to team members
  • Conducts team meetings and one to ones to update on best practices and continuing expectations
  • Generates and shares comprehensive and detailed reports about team performance, mission-related objectives, and deadlines to the team
  • Conducts appraisals in-line with policy and deadlines
Accounting & Transactional:
  • Oversee day-to-day operational finance activities, ensuring that financial transactions are processed accurately and efficiently.
  • Support the Team Leads in generating and presenting comprehensive management reports on key performance
indicators, project statuses, and operational metrics to senior leadership.
  • Ensure adherence to internal financial controls, external audits, and regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and financial metrics, ensuring timely and accurate reporting to senior management and stakeholders.
  • Drive continuous improvement in financial operations through technology and best
practices.
Business Partnering:
  • Developing monthly management reports for use by various stakeholders in the business.
  • Collaborate with other departments to streamline financial operations and reporting.
  • Assisting with Group projects such as alignment of financial practices and policies, development of X3 technology, global operations processes, software integration, etc.
Risk Management:
  • Identify financial risks and ensure appropriate mitigation strategies are in place.
  • Implement and maintain robust systems to ensure sales and purchase ledgers are
consistently reconciled and up-to-date.
  • Ensure processes, systems, and controls are fit for purpose.
  • Work with internal and external auditors to ensure financial risks are managed effectively and in compliance with relevant regulations.

  • As part of the role, the job holder will be responsible for the processing of information, which may be special category data by nature. The job holder is obliged to follow the company Data Protection, Information Security Polices.
  • Full compliance and understanding whilst demonstrating full principles of all accredited ISO regulations.
Training and Education
  • Knowledge of general accounting procedures
You're a proven leader with experience developing a team. To be successful in this role, you'll need:
  • Excellent supplier and stakeholder relationship management skills
  • Advanced financial reconciliation and problem-solving capabilities
  • Proficiency in business unit reporting and KPI analysis
  • Expertise in sales and purchase ledger management
  • Strong project management skills for effective onboarding processes
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in financial operations
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and financial software systems
  • Effective credit control and cash flow management abilities
  • Strong communication skills for cross-functional collaboration
